This article will describe the process of exploiting a vulnerability in Windows Server 2012 by using an application such as 7-Zip to extract the DLL file used in the exploit and adding it to a local folder on my computer. Then, they will journey through various steps for installing and configuring the file to make it work properly on their system. This includes taking screenshots and explaining what is happening with each step in great detail, which would never happen in a traditional CTF mission. Windows Server 2012 is released with many security improvements that Microsoft's software engineers have implemented into this release, but they also crafted some new tools that can be used by hackers to crack into networks with ease. One of these tools that are useful to an exploit writer is the file copy program known as 7-Zip. This tool can be used to perform a variety of tasks, including copying, moving, extracting, and renaming files. It is found in the same path as your command prompt to open it with one quick click. Now that they have located 7-Zip on their computer should they want to exploit the above security flaw in Windows Server 2012, this article will walk you through all steps necessary for installing 7-Zip on your computer so you are able to run the exploit properly. As I have said before, CTF missions are supposed to be impossible for noobs because it takes years of experience. This mission will not only take you through each step, but also explain what is happening with each step. If you are able to successfully complete this mission I will award the user who completed the mission with a special achievement badge that goes into their command prompt application. The user will be able to print this badge out and put it on their wall to show others how they accomplished the mission.https://www.codeproject.com/Articles/792265/Install-7zip-in-Windows-10https://community.rapid7. com/thread/26394https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html-single/Security_Guidehttp://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/windows/desktop/aa375208(v=vs.85).aspxhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Q2iEOVgWY0https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Q2iEOVgWY0https://www.youtube. com/watch?v=8Q2iEOVgWY0https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Q2iEOVgWY0https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Q2iEOVgWY0http://downloads.avaya.com/css/P8/documents/100111377https://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=3020396http://blogs1.techrepublic.com. eccc085e13
